AnotationThe project focuses on investigating the metabolic and structural responses of plants under various environmental conditions. The content of certain metabolites, such as carbohydrates, starches, and phenolic compounds, will be analyzed. The distribution of carbon using the 13C isotope will also be monitored between substances promoting growth and those enhancing plant defense mechanisms. Additionally, the study will explore the impact of photosystem photoinactivation on non-photochemical quenching of chlorophyll a fluorescence, alongside the structural plasticity of thylakoid membranes, with a focus on the role of lipid phases and their influence on the functional parameters of the photosynthetic apparatus. The research team, composed of students from doctoral and master?s programs in biophysics, will concentrate on two sub-projects that will expand the scope of their dissertations or theses. The project aims to advance current research at the Department of Physics, University of Ostrava, and foster the development of new analytical methods within the laboratory. It also anticipates collaboration on high-impact journal publications, interim presentations of findings at two seminars, and participation in scientific conferences.
