AnotationThe INTERFER project creates a unique inter-institutional platform for excellence-oriented research on foreign interference in the context of contemporary geopolitical and technological change. The term foreign interference refers to hidden forms of exerting foreign influence in order to affect the functioning of internal political, social or economic processes in other countries. The issue of foreign interference is a complex phenomenon affecting individuals, society, economy, politics and international relations. The transdisciplinary nature of the INTERFER project and its sub-research projects, which combine insights from political science, international relations, security studies, political geography and economics, stems from the need to address this phenomenon in its complexity.
