Anotation | The presented project aims to expand knowledge about molecular biology characteristics and the diversity of protists, provide novel insights into non-canonical structures of nucleic acids, and expand current understanding of the characteristics of tumor cells in multiple myeloma. The research plan reflects the diversity of topics addressed by the principal investigator and co-researchers. However, the addressed topics are connected through the utilization of state-of-the-art molecular biologal and bioinformatic methods. The individual topics to be addressed include: 1. Molecular biological characterization of parasitic protists of the genus Trypanosoma and Leishmania; 2. Molecular biological analysis of protists from the genus Blastocrithidia; 3. Molecular biological and bioinformatic analysis of parasitic and non-parasitic protists from the family Trypanosomatidae; 4. Establishment of toxicological tests using microalgae; 5. Study of non-canonical structures of nucleic acids occurring in, among others, viral genomes; 6. Bioinformatic and expression analysis of multiple myeloma cells. Some projects build upon and extend successfully completed SGS projects from previous years, while others are entirely new. The project schedule is planned in accordance with the progress of dissertation topics. The project's results will be published in reputable specialized impact journals and presented at scientific conferences. Due to the significant involvement of international students, individual parts of the project are presented in the English language. |
