AnotationThe Develop thinking in 3D: STEAM Labs for active learning project is an innovative, comprehensive programme aimed at integrating 3D printing into the primary school curriculum. The project seeks to connect 3D modeling and 3D printing with STEAM education principles (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). The main goal of the project is to develop pupils' spatial imagination, creative thinking and technical skills through hands-on activities and projects. Hands-on activities and collaborative projects not only promote collaboration, but more importantly, allow pupils to have direct physical interaction with materials or tools, which greatly promotes learning and understanding. Within this project we will develop content that is not limited to the subject of Computer Science, but extends to other disciplines taught in primary schools. We will build on the main curriculum document of the RVP ZV and also on the already mentioned STEAM concept. Our curriculum will include interactive materials, practical exercises (hands-on activities) and projects that will allow students to not only learn about the technical aspects of 3D printing, but also to develop creative, critical and logical thinking, teamwork and collaboration. A guide to 3D printing in education will be developed for educators, facilitating the implementation of the curriculum into mainstream teaching. One of the other outcomes of the project will be to design the concept of a dynamic lab environment where students can immerse themselves in the world of 3D modelling and 3D printing. Thanks to this we will be able to organize a workshop for primary schools that want to try this proposed concept but do not have the necessary resources. The project also pledges to inclusive education, tailoring activities for all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring full participation and maximization of every student's potential.
