| Anotation | The purpose of this research is to further examine the literature and the cultural life of the German speaking citizens of the Hlučín region and searching for memorable places that important personalities and events connected with the cultural and social life of the German-speaking population in the Hlučín region are reminiscent of. For centuries, the mix of Bohemian, Moravian and German residents formed the Hlučín region, its language, customs and culture. The research will mainly deal with the coexistence of these minorities, while the German influence, that was rather significant, will be examined. The main source of this research will be the literary works of local writers, who have dealt with the region´s rareness in their pieces. The goal of this project is to reveal new primary and secondary sources of information and their following examination. The research team consists of one teacher and two students. The results of the research will be mentioned in the student's diploma thesis, will be presented on local conferences as well as these taking place abroad and will also be published in scientific journal. The presentation of these results to public will be in cooperation with the Salesian University in Katowice, the Eichendorff´s Upper Silesian Cultural Center in Lubowice, the Museum of Hlučín region and the Association of villages of the Hlučín region. The project follows up a major direction of research on Faculty of Arts at University of Ostrava, which is centred around the position of a region, land and city in literary and cultural context. |
