Anotation | The results of epidemiological studies, both cohort (HELEN, EHES) and longitudinal (ELSPAC, CELSPAC, SHARE, ELSA) focus on trends in risk factors related to health, point out the fundamental impact of lifestyle on health of each individual in their results, respectively the complexity of the relationship between behaviour and health. Understanding the onset of chronic diseases throughout life and understanding the relationship between age and modifiable lifestyle risk factors with the first and subsequent occurrence of chronic disease is key to the focus of prevention. The prevalence of chronic diseases is constantly increasing with the aging of the population. The risk of chronic diseases begins to form in childhood and increases with age. Of particular importance is the multimorbidity of middle-aged adults, when the first chronic diseases begin to manifest, one of the main causes of which is an unhealthy lifestyle created from birth. The proposed project will analyse data from the questionnaires of mothers and fathers of the prospective longitudinal study ELSPAC, provided by the research centre of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University RECETOX. The analysis will include data related to the health status, lifestyle and demographic data of the cohort of mothers and fathers from 1990, 1994, 1998, 2006, 2010. The results of the study's analyses will help to identify the determinants of the deteriorating health of the aging population, complement the activities of the HAIE project and follow-up projects, and specify the decisive factors for targeting preventive activities in relation to healthy aging. |
