Anotation | This project supports the active participation of students in actual research performed by a group of Biophysics (Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava), more specifically in research focused on the assessment of impacts of environmental stress factors on physiological, biochemical and molecularly-biological properties of plant assimilatory apparatus as well as on the determination of plant tolerance against detrimental effects of environment (acclimation and cross-acclimation processes etc.). One master student (R. Pech) and two Ph.D. students (A. Volná, R. Pech) will be involved in the project, these students are in the first year of the respective study program of Biophysics (full-time students). The aim of the submitted project is mainly to motivate students to independently design and perform their own research projects which are beyond the framework of their theses or are only partially related to them (interconnected by methodologies or a topic). Student research projects will be supervised by two academic employees (J. Nezval, I. Kurasová). Except that, the aim is to acquaint students with the work in research teams, which has higher demands on the precision of work, data processing and presentation of obtained results. Students will improve not only their presentation skill (own talks on seminars or conferences), but also acquire the systematic scientific workflows which should lead to results of sufficient quality to be published in scientific journals. |
