Anotation | Breast cancer is the most common tumor in the female population after skin cancer. It is currently one of the largest epidemiological problems in the field of cancers. Approximately 6500 women are ill and the incidence is increasing every year. Compared to Europe, the Czech Republic is placed on the 15th place per 100,000 person-years. Compared to world it´s on the 19th place. This mortality stagnates or slightly decreases. Probably it´s due to the ever-improving treatment and the increasing prevention. Due to the fact that the incidence of breast cancer is constantly increasing, it´s important to deal with the risk factors that affect its development. Known genetic risk factors include genetics. Hereditary form of tumor is applied at 5-10%. This form is associated with the occurrence of mutations in the two most important genes - BRCA1 and BRCA2. In the study, it will be perfomed molecular genetic analysis by 2046 probands. It will be performed to detect the presence of a pathogenic sequences variant in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes. Asymptomatic relatives of probands will be evaluated to preventive care and health risks, as well as for establishing and confirming the lifetime risk of breast cancer in probands with detected mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes. |
