Anotation | Trypanosomatids are widespread parasites causing numerous diseases of vertebrates, including humans. The best known members are Trypanosoma (responsible for African sleeping sickness and Chagas disease) and Leishmania species (causative agents of leishmaniases). All these parasites are dixenous. They have two different hosts - invertebrates and vertebrates - in their life cycle. The aim of this project is to identify and analyze potential factors of virulence in trypanosomatids using modern methods of computational and functional genomics. |
