| Annotation: | Course objectives The goal of the subject is to introduce basics of the field (complex care of individuals with physical disabilities and chronic conditions). It will focus on etiology, characteristics and symptomatology of the most commonly dealt disabilities, chronic as well as rare diseases. Based on this knowledge it will further address the impact of disability / chronic diseases on the quality of education and school success. It will emphasize use of supportive measures in educational process (assessment, counselling, different types of supportive measures, specific teaching methods, knowledge of selected assistive technologies, didactic and compensatory aids and their use). The aim is to develop basic practical skills focused on enhancement of fine motor/ graphomotor skills, communication and use of elements of selected therapies.
