This course is designed to help students understand the complex changes which accompany advancing age and an appreciation for the consequences of these changes for subsequent behavior. Emphasis will be placed on the evaluation of physical, psychological, and social changes which accompany advancing age. The impact of lifestyle factors on quality of life will be examined with special emphasis on the role of physical (in) activity in healthy aging.
The student knows different strategies and techniques for the selection of samples and their size.
The student learns different scientific designs within the quantitative approach that are used in research in the field of physical education.
The student is able to recognize valid tools that can be used in research in physical education, and how they work in the practice.
The student is able to critically reflect on flaws and advantages of several sampling methods, tools, and designs.
The student is familiar with the applied terminology and research approaches in physical education and they are able to explain it to others.
