Annotation: | The course aims at acquiring correct skills and habits for piano playing, improve keyboard orientation and play melodies with harmonic accompaniment. Emphasis is laid on student´s skills to analyse and decompose harmonic structure of simple song or aria accompaniments. Competence at playing harmonic structure alongside with the melody is important in building up student´s ability to apply structural play when studying his/her Major subject solo repertoire. The first semester focuses on solidifying correct habits when playing the instrument. Student concentrates also on analysing harmonic structure of simple songs and uses it in accompanying line in a simplified form. Requirements: Active course attendance Playing accompaniments to simple songs (Janáček, Mozart) Harmonization of a song and accompaniment Content: Technical basics of piano play Basic keystroke techniques Harmonic functions in songs of W.A. Mozart Basics of melody harmonization Reduction of accompanying line Recommended repertoire : L. Janáček : Moravial Folk Poetra in Songs (Moravská lidová poezie v písních) W. A.
