The primary framework for this analysis will be anthropological and sociological theories of ethnicity, nationalism, and racial thought, and contemporary cultural geographic approaches to space, place and landscape. After taking this course, the student should be able to critically reflect upon social reality and the politics of language and knowledge as well as to analyse sources, dynamics, and spatial manifestations of ethno-national and racial conflicts in various places in the world. |
