Annotation: | The aim of the course is to introduce students to the history of ancient Rome from a political, social, economic and cultural perspective. Emphasis will be placed on issues such as the formation of Roman state, its development, growth and crisis, international relations and the nature of Roman culture, forms of goverment, institutions and public life. The presentation is built on the analysis of narrative and archaeological sources and on the results of contemporary research. |
