Annotation: | The student gets acquainted with the basic principles of graphics, creative thinking in graphics, as well as the overlap of graphics into other media and printing process technologies with emphasis on creative effort and technical skill. Renown authors of Czech and world art are introduced. The student works on solving individual assignments and sets out a strategy for the final result - the artefact, based on assignments and tasks that stem from discussions and consultations with his/her peer. Introduction to the study of graphics, graphics early origins, its historical and social aspects. Graphics as a separate artistic medium. Context, analogy, and differences with other art media. Graphics today, and how to explore possibilities of using other artistic media and their overlapping aspects when creating graphics. Students get to know the historical outline of the development and creation of basic graphic techniques, their principle, and using them in artistic creation. Signing and principles of numbering graphics sheets, overhead costs of the graphics sheets for individual graphics techniques, printing completion and verification of the graphic form. Relief printing and other marginal graphic techniques. Preparation and layout of the drawing, preparation, and processing of the printing form of the selected technique and the procedure for printing the mold itself. Special methods of relief printing: natural printing, terrycloth, active structural graphics (material prefabricated printing), blind printing, marginal graphic techniques - monotypes, template printing, imprints of specific objects, geometric shapes, characters, letters, pictograms carved from paper or cardboard - possibilities of color solution, etc. Students become more familiar with these aspects of graphics based on samples of individual techniques - original sheets. They get acquainted with renown personalities and their work in Czech arts, alongside with insights into historical context of the world art. |
