Annotation:
The aim of the course is to deepen the students' knowledge of the didactics of the German language so that they are able to characterize in detail the methods and procedures for teaching basic language skills and additional skills (pronunciation acquisition, grammar acquisition, vocabulary acquisition, working with pictorial material, working with the realities of German-speaking countries), to list the types of exercises and tasks for practicing the given language skills, and to describe the types of methods of testing and written/oral examination of these skills. In addition, students will be able to draw up a systematic lesson plan, implement a lesson with all the relevant parts and foci, defend their choice of approach for teaching a given topic and at a given level of learner proficiency, construct a didactic test to test basic language skills in a way that is reliable, objective and valid, evaluate the learning outcomes of other course participants, make recommendations for possible optimization and argue their opinions. Attention will also be paid to the use of modern technologies in the delivery of additional language competences as well as in the assessment and testing of learners (digital applications, online testing tools). Current topics in the field of foreign language didactics will also be discussed within the individual teaching units in accordance with the current curriculum design, the issues currently being discussed in professional pedagogical circles and the latest findings in the methods of teaching and learning foreign languages (possibilities of cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the NPI of the Czech Republic, publishers of foreign language textbooks, companies for the support of German language teaching, magazines for foreign language teachers, magazines for students, etc.).
