| Annotation: | The seminar focuses on professional communication and the specifics of professional language, aiming to highlight the characteristic lexical and grammatical means of this style of expression and the features of professional texts. The students will get acquainted with different textual types of professional communication and the specifics of their macrostructure. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of professional vocabulary, including the formation of professional terms, the use of foreign words and affixes, metaphors and the processes of terminologization. Attention is also paid to grammatical features of professional texts, such as passive constructions, nominalization and verbonominal links. Theoretical knowledge is applied to the analysis of authentic texts from different spheres of professional language, enabling students to develop practical skills for working with professional texts. |
