Although the course is aimed at the Czech language, at the beginning it is taught in English (B1 language level is required).
The course KCJ/0CECN, taught in the form of practical exercises, is intended exclusively for international students (non-native speakers) from non-Slavic countries (e.g. Germany, China, Spain) who have no prior knowledge of Czech. Beginners from Slavic countries are assigned to the course KCJ/0CECS.
The course KCJ/0CECN focuses on acquiring the basics of the Czech language, developing basic conversational skills, and building competence in written expression as well as comprehension of spoken and written texts. Students will consolidate fundamental grammar and vocabulary and, through practical exercises, will learn to handle everyday communicative situations (e.g. in a shop, restaurant, hotel, at a railway station, or in academic settings), write a short message or letter, a simple structured CV, fill in forms, or arrange a meeting. The course also includes systematic practice of grammar and pronunciation.
