Annotation:	Students are introduced into the field of intercultural communication, its essential concepts and crucial issues which resonate throughout the western world. In seminars students discuss topics of identity and stereotypes and while analyzing texts and watching documentaries they learn critical thinking. They gain knowledge and competencies in the fields of politeness, adaptation to culture shock and distinct cultural aspects.
