Annotation:This course surveys the leading theories and methods of Western literary analysis that have developed in the modern era. It aims to familiarize students with a variety of critical approaches to interpreting literary works, to acquaint them with the underlying logic of each approach and its differences from others, and to enable them to apply these methods in their own literary and cultural analyses.
