Mgr. František Kubeš, Ph.D.

František Kubeš is an expert in regional and local development, the European Union, strategic planning, integrated urban development, metropolitan cooperation and Smart Cities. He is a proud graduate of the University of Ostrava. Since 2019, he has been working as the Head of Strategic Development and Cooperation Department at the Municipality of Brno. From 2014 to 2019 he held the position of Head of the Urban Policy Department at the Ministry of Regional Development, and in the last two years he was also the Director in Charge of the Regional Policy Department. He is also active at the European level - he leads the working group "Metropolitan Areas" of the Eurocities network of cities, and actively participates in the exchange of experience within the newly established European Urban Initiative (especially through lectures abroad). His aim is to connect the local government, university and business environment.
