Floods situation in Ostrava

The Moravia-Silesia region is currently battling floods after a weekend of heavy rain. Although the situation is improving, many roads and parts of the region are still under water. The main areas affected are the outskirts of Ostrava and surrounding towns. But don't worry - drinking water in the city is still safe.

Public transport in Ostrava is in service but be prepared for possible delays. More information can be found on the DPO website: DPO Emergencies.

Some services such as shops, restaurants and others may be closed. Before going anywhere, please check if the shop is open. Unfortunately, trains are heavily affected, so please stay in the city of Ostrava and go on your adventures later.

Regarding the university, everything is open, and classes will continue. However, if you are unable to attend, you will be excused from classes. If you have any questions concerning the university and the situation, please do not hesitate to contact our university coordinators.
