The Dean of Faculty of Medicine University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for position:

  • Specialist (senior) in hematooncology

Type of Systematized Position:

  • Postdoc.

Expected Start of Employment:

  • 1. 10. 2024 or by an agreement.

Expected Working Load:

  • 70 % - 100 %; on a fixed-term basis for the duration of the LERCO project (maximum until December 31, 2027).

Qualification and other prerequisites:

  • PhD with a suitable specialization with practical experience from a laboratory focused on molecular or cell biology, biochemistry or a similar field (at least during the study);
  • Scientific research and publication activity in the given or related field.
  • Previous work experience in a similar position will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of English (B2) for communication with our foreign researchers and foreign suppliers (web, email).
  • Knowledge of working with standard MS office software, knowledge of other software in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry is an advantage.
  • Reliable, diligence and capablity of working in a team.
  • Very good organizational and communication skills.
  • Also suitable for Ph.D. graduates.

Language in Which the Selection Process Will Be Conducted:

  • Czech and/or English.

Salary Conditions:

  • In accordance with the Internal Salary Regulations of the University of Ostrava.

Description of the work position:

  • Participation in the LERCO project CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003 within the research program VP 6 "Research and Development of New Therapeutic Methods for Blood Cancers."
  • The Specialist (senior) is responsible for the running of the laboratory in terms of implementation and work on laboratory methods. The main task is the maintenance and archiving of cell lines, functional assays, molecular-biological processing of samples (DNA / RNA isolation, PCR, protein isolation and purification), protein detection but also work on in vivo studies. He/she also participates in ensuring the normal operation of the laboratory, such as routine laboratory cleaning or the maintenance of operating logs.
