Assistant Professor for Position Spanish Philology with Focus on Didactics of Spanish Language within the project IMPREF

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure, reference number: OU-85636/25-2024, to fill an academic position of:

  • 1 Assistant Professor for Position Spanish Philology with Focus on Didactics of Spanish Language within the project Implementace reformy učitelské přípravy na OU: kompetenční vzdělávání založené na praxi, výzkumu, internacionalizaci a spolupráci s klinickou školou, reg. No. CZ.02.02.XX/00/23_019/0008272

Expected starting date:

  • 1st of September, 2024, or by agreement.

Working hours:

  • full-time: 100 %, for a fixed period of 2 years.

Language in which the selection procedure will be conducted:

  • English.

Salary:

  • according to the Internal Regulations of the University of Ostrava, with the possibility of personal/performance evaluation.

Job description:

  • participates in the implementation of research on the didactics of the Spanish language;
  • actively publishes in the field of Spanish language didactics;
  • actively participates in international and national conferences;
  • participates in teaching didactically oriented courses;
  • participates in subtasks related to the preparation of the reform of undergraduate education;
  • prepares and submits research grants in the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Spanish Philology with focus on didactics of Spanish language (ELE);
  • EU research level: R2 - Recognized;
  • research and teaching focus in Spanish language with focus on didactics of Spanish language;
  • relevant publication activity (at least 2 WoS/Scopus/ERIH/Monograph outputs in the last three years in the above field);
  • experience in dealing with grant projects an advantage;
  • knowledge of the English language at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
  • proactive approach, systematic and independent;
  • excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • at least 2 years' experience outside the Czech Republic as an academic staff member at a university with a minimum of 50% worktime, or 2 years as a Ph.D. student (or equivalent to ISCED level 8) at university outside the Czech Republic.
