Salary:
Gross monthly salary will be 84 518 CZK, it is approx. 3 130 EUR at the exchange rate of 27,00 CZK/EUR
Conditions:
Duration of the workplace – covered by the project: 12 months (starting no later than in September 2021) – 1 employee for 12 months, or 2 employees per 6 months.

Additional information on the position:
The successful candidate will join one of the departments or research centres at the Faculty of Social Studies, University of Ostrava focusing on research in the following areas:
- Population Groups at Risk of Social Exclusion – mainly people excluded from housing and people in difficult life situations.
- Computerisation of Social Work.
Specification of a successful candidate:
- In the past three years the candidate spent at least two years in another country than the Czech Republic on half-time or full-time job (work load 0,5 or more) or to study;
- The successful candidate will hold a PhD (no later than 7 years from the defence of the doctoral thesis inc. successful PhD exam) in the field Social Work or his degree must correspond to level 8 of ISCD;
- Adequate publishing activity incl. at minimum two publications in the last 3 years in the research fields mentioned above;
- Competences on researcher level R2 – for definition see Research profiles descriptors
Experience with:
- Qualitative and quantitative research in social work,
- Application of social-ecological and/or critical approach in social work research,
- Discourse and narrative analysis approaches,
- Participation in international research teams,
- Education of Ph.D. students in terms of methods
Expected:
- to speak English,
- to publish scientific papers,
- to present achieved results at conferences,
- to develop an international team cooperation,
- to share the results of social work research, focused on sociocultural differences.
Job description:
The postdoc accepted is supposed to intensively participate in research and publication activities of the Faculty of Social Studies in terms of developing new approaches in qualitative and quantitative social work research focused on the social-ecological and/or critical approach. We search solely for an excellent scientist who is already active and successful in qualitative and quantitative social work research focus on social exclusion.
Choosing the postdoc among applicants:
If more applicants meet the requirements stated by the project, a committee consisting of three senior members of the Faculty will evaluate the applicants.

The first round of the selection process will be carried out by assessing of the submitted documents. The successful candidates will be invited to the second round of the selection (in English, due to the situation of COVID-19 could be in on-line form, e. g. Zoom, etc.). The employer is entitled to cancel the tender without giving any reasons or not to select any of candidates.
