Annotation:Public health is based on the assumption that health, health care and health service are an important public priority, public goods and a general human value. It builds on the fact that the proper function of the health care system includes knowledge on management, economics, law and legislation, and information on many other areas. The course is devoted to methods and knowledge of the sciences dealing particularly with management, law, legislation, medical informatics, health economics and social psychology. The important common contentual elements of teaching include information on the direction, structure, function, competences and responsibility of individual components of the organizational health care system, including community care and health and social care for specific population groups. Objectives: Students will be familiar with basic concepts, theories and determinants of health, the status of public health in the context of Czech health care policy. They will be able to compare the development of health status of the population in the Czech Republic with other countries, and in a historical context. They will be able to identify and understand the basic economic problems in the health service, to define the WHO's major health programs and orientation, and their implementation in the CR, they will know the basic principles and components of community care and health and social care for specific population groups.
