Annotation:The course is designed as a theoretical and practical unit. It is part of the nursing subjects in primary and tertiary care. It focuses on the health of people in the community. Students will understand the meaning of "community", its main social functions in meeting the needs of people and its hierarchy: individual-family-district-city-region-state-nation-world. They will realize the need for healthy social and natural environment in the community for the life of individuals and their families. Students will learn how to take care of clients/patients in home environment. Students will become familiar with the organizational structure of home care agencies and valid legislation for their activities. Objectives: Students will understand the concept of community, the importance of healthy social and natural environment to human health. Students will become familiar with the development of health and social services within the community care for the health of individuals and different population groups. They will adopt the philosophy of home care and will become familiar with the basic organizational structure of home care, and with an interdisciplinary approach in home care. They will realize the differences of providing care in home environment.
