Annotation: | Obviously, all societies, from simple hunting groups to complex industrial or post-industrial societies in which we live, must produce the basic goods and services on which their members depend. All societies have economies (in the sense of mechanisms) that enable the production and circulation of goods and services. The principles underlying these processes of production and circulation, however, vary from society to society. On the basis of this prediction, the content of the course is to clarify the basic aspects and concepts related to industrial societies and the changes they underwent, including the history of capitalism, the different types of production and the changes that new production systems bring to society. Students will be guided to understand the basic mechanisms and the functions of work in industrial societies and to discuss the changes associated with the phenomena of industrialization. The course content will be complemented by concrete examples based on social practice and excoursions. This course is taught in English. |
