Courses

The course, through practical demonstrations, clarifies the fundamental relationships between philosophy and film. It examines their common features as well as their differences. It highlights philosophical questions and problems that gain a new, specific form through films. As part of the course, a total of six films with a philosophical dimension will be shown. Each screening will be followed by a discussion with questions and an analysis of the respective films. The films will introduce students to the context of a particular philosophical issue, environment, or viewpoint. They encourage students to reflect on this context while developing their interpretative skills and factual knowledge. All films will be screened in English with English subtitles.
