Annotation: Painting Studio I aims at getting students familiar with various techniques of painting and working with color in space. The course combines theoretical and practical teaching. Work at Studio includes step by step basic phenomena in painting in combination with practical exercises of figure painting using a model in the studio. Here, basic painting skills are being developed with an emphasis on the specific phenomenon of painting. The course focuses on volume painting of figures and still lifes. Lectures on displaying objects in space and still lifes are divided into two parts: 1AMA1 history up to the 19th century, and 1AMA2 continues with the theory of still lifes from the 20th century to the present. The student acquires theoretical knowledge of basic works of art throughout art history. The theoretical part of teaching, focusing on volume building, is presented in blocks. The student gets acquainted with the color phenomenon. He/she learns to understand the ways of building an image going through examples and analysis of paintings in antiquity, the Middle Ages and of those in modern times. In the studio, he/she paints according to the model and learns about the human body anatomy, learns understanding and seeing different possibilities and potential of the human figure.
