Annotation: | In addition to digital photography, multimedia lessons include video and video art. Video is the cornerstone of multimedia installation, besides sound and text. It can also be implemented into a 3D object as an intermedial artifact. The term will seek to master this discipline. Students will be introduced into the history of video art in the world context and in the Czech environment, and lectures will be supplemented by art history with analyses and debates over selected works content, spanning each decade from the 1960' signature videos and authors will be selected (W. A S. Wasuluka, B.Viola, B. Naumann, M. Abramovich- videoperformance, D. Gordon, D. Graham, V. Export- feminist themes, P. Weibel, P. McCarthy, N.J. Paik - video in the building, T. Ousler - video installation, Pipilotti Rist - contemporary gender theme.) On a theoretical level, students will explore relationship between media and public opinion, the influence of mass media on society, engaged work and sociological aspects according to the opinion of selected and available texts of selected authors, and will complement their learnings in subjects that touch on the topic from a technical point of view (Dramaturgy and Screens, Film Direction). From video shot primarily by artists to dialogue with emerging mass networks (film, TV, internet). It is this specialized field where our graduates will feel the palpable beat of commercial sphere. Emphasis and discussion will be lead over the popularity of video art for creators of gender art, dematerialization of 3D objects including the body, which continue to exist in two-dimensional terms. Subject of video performance without live viewers, and the presence of network video, including presentations of video artists will be touched upon. Technical knowledge from Digital image processing lecture will be enriched by practical assignments and direct creation that will be guided via consultations with the peer over the period of creation and final installation in studio or elsewhere. |
