| Annotation: | The introduction to the study sheds light on and defines the basic principles of the art field, and its specialization, drawing, as a traditional artistic discipline and as a form of individual creative self-expression. It is designed to build appropriately on the earlier knowledge of students and at the same time allow them to shift from a normative, high school study approach towards a more independent individually shaped creative education and the search for their own artistic expression. The first term begins with a two-year program of figurative and specifically figural drawings. At the same time, students are given assignments of the first studio projects that requires application of their own conceptual balance sheet and gradual movements towards individually conceived work. In the first projects, students are encouraged to apply and safely master the basic means of expression of the drawing (emphasis is placed on line quality, rhythm, color, composition, work with area and space, fidelity of display) so that more complex tasks related to the concept of the emerging work gradually and logically stem from the process of its practical materialization. Students are getting familiarized with various forms of drawing expression and especially with various forms of application of drawing in the context of contemporary visual art. Regarding the individual needs of individual students, the research focus is on specific possibilities of the drawing medium that can range from primarily artistic, abstract, action or gestational drawing to its depictive, narrative, or character-symbolic form. An important, continuously developed aspect of the study of drawing is an open mindset towards the digital technologies, and current communication strategies and techniques. By completing individual tasks and creating a term assignment that precedes a term project, the student proves his/her necessary technical and artistic level as well as the ability to work independently and creatively as needed during this first stage of study. Part of the study is the systematic building of a student's personal portfolio having well organized photo documentation of the individual stages of study. |
