Annotation:This course helps students develop the skills needed to create persuasive presentations. The course aims to support the student's ability to present confidently on a variety of topics related to their academic or professional life. As communication nowadays takes place largely in an online environment, the affordances of digital presentations constitute an integral part of the course. The student is gradually introduced to various stages in the preparation of a presentation (from determining the target audience to creating a clear structure and visual plan), in the actual delivery (from the opening of the presentation to its conclusion) and last but not least, the techniques that ensure effectiveness and the desired impact on the audience (e.g. through storytelling or proper argumentation). The student will also be introduced to some techniques for managing stage fright. Upon completion of the course, the student will have acquired the competencies to be an engaging presenter in a wide range of professional contexts.
