- VP2 (BFY) Researcher (junior/postdoc) in the LERCO project
This is a position filled in accordance with the conditions of the Life Environment Research Center Ostrava (LERCO) project (reg. no. CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003, Research program 2 Biochemical and biophysical methods of living systems analysis – part Biophysics, Main Activity 2 (New methodical approaches for assessment of oxidative stress in biological systems).

Job Description/Responsibilities
- Implementation of an independent research focused on the study of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and manifestations of ROS-induced plant damage at the molecular and physiological levels, in accordance with the plans of Main Activity 2 (New methodological approaches to the study of oxidative stress in biological systems) in Research Program 2 (VP2) "Biochemical and biophysical methods for the analysis of biological systems - part Biophysics" of the LERCO project.
- Development of experimental biophysical, chemical-analytical, or molecular biological methods focused on the quantification of ROS and the degree of oxidative stress in biological systems.
- Active involvement in the preparation of project applications and the development of international cooperation.
- Dissemination of results at scientific meetings; and publication at highly ranked, internationally acclaimed scientific journals.
Qualifications and other requirements
- Ph.D. in biophysics, biochemistry, experimental biology, or similar areas.
- Significant scientific performance in the fields of biophysics, experimental biology and plant physiology, molecular biology, or in the area of "omics" (with a focus on plants).
- Experience in the analysis of plant responses to oxidative stress.
- Practical knowledge of selected methods for the detection and qualitative and quantitative analysis of reactive oxygen species, their interaction products with proteins/DNA/lipids, or other oxidative stress markers.
- Advanced knowledge of analysis and statistical processing of data.
- High level publication activity (including publications in Q1, D1 scientific journals) and international cooperation in the above field.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English, at least at B2 level.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.

The first round of the selection procedure will take place without the personal presence of the candidates by the assessment of the submitted materials by the selection committee.
The Dean of the Faculty reserves the right to invite only selected candidates to a personal meeting and also the right not to select any candidate. The selection procedure may be cancelled or repeated at the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty.
